In the Career Mentor role, you are responsible for the placement of Tech Academy graduates within their field of study. The Career Mentor works directly with learners and graduates to put into practice the skills and strategies learned during mentor sessions and/or the IT Career Prep course, build confidence in the job search process, ensure employment readiness, and provide additional career coaching as needed. The Career Mentor also proactively sources job leads through cold-calling, job boards, internet sourcing, networking, employer visits within the community, and other means, to deliver effective workshops guiding learners through applications. The Career Mentor must also verify employment records of graduates by gathering required documentation which meets all federal, state, VA, accreditation, and company guidelines; and input graduate employment data into our CRM.
