Job Description:

The Career & Alumni Services Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting student success beyond the classroom by facilitating career development, employer engagement, and alumni relations for students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. This individual ensures that students approaching graduation are prepared to navigate the job market with confidence and are connected to employment opportunities, professional organizations, and ongoing College support after graduation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and implement tailored career development programs
  • Create and deliver educational content in the Professional Development Unit
  • Collaborate with faculty and student organizations
  • Maintain a centralized system for job postings
  • Organize career fairs, employer panels, and networking events
  • Provide one-on-one advising to students
  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with employers
  • Lead recruitment and placement efforts
  • Partner with the Director of Outcomes Assessment
  • Develop and implement a dynamic alumni engagement strategy
  • Build and sustain an alumni mentor network
  • Collaborate with alumni as guest speakers and recruiters
  • Develop strategies to engage alumni through events and social media
  • Maintain up-to-date alumni contact information

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years in career services, alumni engagement, student services, employer relations, or a closely related area
  • Demonstrated experience planning events or workshops

Nice to have:

  • Master's Degree - higher education, student affairs, or related field
  • 5+ years working a professional school or graduate-level academic setting
  • Familiarity with vet med employment trends and hiring practices
  • Experience with career management software (e.g. Handshake)
