The Career Advisor is a pivotal figure within the academy, serving as the primary link between students, parents, and the local labour market. The successful candidate will lead the development of a robust careers program fostering a culture of high aspirations. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure that every student, regardless of background, receives impartial and empowering guidance.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct 1-to-1 career guidance interviews
Manage and update the school's careers plan
Organise careers fairs and employer visits
Coordinate work experience placements
Monitor and report on student destinations
Deliver career-themed workshops and assemblies
Advise staff on integrating careers into the curriculum
Liaise with external agencies and local businesses
Support students with college and job applications
Manage the careers budget and resources
Requirements:
Level 6 Qualification in Career Guidance
Proven experience working with young people
Enhanced DBS on the update service
Eligibility right to work in the UK
Empathetic and active listening
Advanced public speaking and presentation
Strategic planning and organisation
Networking and relationship building
Time management and prioritisation
