We are currently seeking a Care Support Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team, supporting a client with Spinal Muscular Atrophy based in London, across two locations as he splits his time between his university residence SW7 and his family home in SW19.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support to access the community to meet friends and do things he enjoys
  • Support to attend university
  • Meeting our client's complex needs including but not limited to: Moving & handling
  • High risk of pressure sores – needs regular repositioning and observations of skin integrity
  • Personal care – full support with washing, dressing, toileting etc.
  • Eating & drinking – full support to prepare, eat & drink
  • Secretion management which includes oral suction, chest physio, cough assist, & nebulizer administration
  • Ventilation overnight and when unwell
  • Saturation monitoring (oxygen saturations, heart rate & temperature)
  • Medication administration

Requirements:

  • A caring and empathetic nature
  • Good communication skills
  • A genuine desire to support others
  • Basic IT and record-keeping skills
  • A full UK driving licence is advantageous
  • Previous experience is helpful but not essential
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, with documentation valid for at least 12 months
  • A good standard of spoken and written English is essential
