Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook to join our Dovehaven Team. This role will require you to work 30 hours per week at our Manchester House Care home on Albert Road, Southport, PR9 9LN. The working hours will be 3 days a week - 8am - 6pm on a rota basis with alternate weekend availability required! Manchester House is a Nursing and residential care home catering for up to 67 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for residents

Requirements:

  • Willing to work towards achievement of at least Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3
  • Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid are desirable
  • Previous care home or hotel experience with the ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents
  • Caring nature and positive attitude
  • Energetic, friendly team player with good organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure effectively
  • Compassion and empathy in approach to residents
  • Dependable and flexible

Nice to have:

  • Catering (C&G) or NVQ 3
  • Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid
