Job Description:

The role of Cook will require you to ensure that nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for our residents. You will work on a rota opposite the head Chef, so leadership skills are required. Ashton View is a Nursing home catering for up to 58 residents. The home specialises in Dementia & Nursing, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure nutritious and beautifully presented meals are provided for residents
Work on a rota opposite the head Chef

Requirements:

Caring nature and positive attitude
Desire to deliver best possible standards for residents
Energetic, friendly team player
Good organisation and time management skills
Ability to work under pressure effectively
Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy
Previous residential home or hotel experience
Ability to prepare meals for 50 or more residents
Dependable and flexible
NVQ level 2 in catering (desirable)
Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid (desirable)
Leadership skills
Availability to work every other weekend

Nice to have:

NVQ level 2 in catering
Qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid
Previous residential home or hotel experience
