Prime Life are on the lookout for passionate and dedicated care professionals to join our friendly team as a Care Assistant, on a full time basis. At present, we have several vacancies available and are keen to meet with candidates as soon as possible for interviews. This role will be based at Meadow View Care Home, in Alcester. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 42 residents, living with a range of age related health conditions, physical disabilities and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene and choosing outfit
  • Supporting residents to dine at mealtimes and maintain nutrition and hydration
  • Encouraging residents to mobilise safely around the home
  • Providing friendship and companionship and accompanying residents on social outings or appointments
  • Maintaining accurate and timely written records
  • Being part of a multi-disciplinary team and engaging with other care professionals
  • Welcoming family members to the home and assisting with enquiries

Requirements:

  • Genuine caring nature
  • Desire to make a real difference for residents
  • Prior experience as a Care Assistant or Support worker desirable but not essential
  • Patient, understanding and respectful of resident’s individual abilities
  • Understanding of dementia would be beneficial

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience as a Care Assistant or Support worker
  • Understanding of dementia

  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
