Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced care assistant for our home. Shifts are 8am – 8pm, 2 or 3 shifts per week, working alternate weekends. We have 22 and 33 hour contracts available.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure physical and emotional support and care for residents
Safeguard delivery of health care arrangements under direction of GP or other health care representatives
Assist in providing stable and caring environment for residents' emotional and psychological well-being
Promote relationships enabling residents to participate in social activities
Encourage and support residents to make decisions affecting their lifestyle
Be aware of residents' whereabouts at all times and follow emergency procedures
Behave in caring and professional manner
Follow and implement Rochcare policies and procedures
Engage in professional development including training
Attend staff meetings
Use initiative working alone or as part of team
Maintain confidentiality
Aid and report in investigation of complaints
Undertake any other reasonable duty
Promote and maintain homely atmosphere
Support residents with all aspects of health, social, and emotional well-being including personal care, mobility, continence, nutrition & hydration
Ensure residents are well-kept in personal care, hygiene and clothing
Give mental and physical stimulation to residents
Support and care for residents who are end of life
Complete all records in relation to individuals and the home
Attend handover and be aware of allocated tasks
Undertake housekeeping tasks to ensure rooms are clean, tidy, and odour-free
Provide escort duty for appointments
Follow infection control practices
Familiarise and implement regulatory requirements
Report all concerns appropriately
Respond to all enquiries
Answer door and telephone promptly, welcome visitors

Requirements:

Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Experience as a care assistant
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Flexible approach to employment
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to follow and implement company policies and procedures
Engagement in professional development including mandatory training
