Job Description:

To support customers with all aspects of their day to day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. Providing care and support is both a challenging and rewarding experience. You will mostly work alone with the customer in their home. Compassion, good communication skills and a calm and caring manner are essential for this important role in our company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Safely provides compassionate care and support centred on individual needs
  • Respect customers’ choices and promote their dignity
  • Report any changes or causes for concern promptly
  • Give non-discriminatory care and support
  • Help customers make their own decisions and be as independent as possible
  • Follow instructions in the care and support plan
  • Provide all aspects of personal care (showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, teeth and dentures, medicines)
  • Assist with eating and drinking (planning, encouragement, shopping, preparing, serving, cleaning)
  • Safely use aids and personal equipment (standing/walking frames, wheelchairs, hoists, sliding sheets, hearing aids)
  • Perform housework (washing floors, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, making beds, dusting, tidying)
  • Support social and physical activities or mental stimulation (answering door/phone, writing, taking customer out, hobbies)
  • Support through temporary and terminal illness (end of life care, hospital appointments, liaising with support and families)
  • Record and report all relevant customer information (care provided, assistance with medicines, changes in condition, faulty equipment, hazards, emergencies, accidents, incidents, safeguarding matters)
