Job Description:

Care Assistant role with Advantage Healthcare Limited, part of City & County Healthcare Group, delivering care to a child in Lewisham.

Job Responsibility:

Be a part of a special care team delivering care to our client who is a delightful child and support him to reach his full potential
Monitoring the client's tracheostomy and carrying out suctioning when needed
Ensuring all emergency equipment is available and checked
Provide full supervision while he attends school
Support communication using Makaton and visual cues
Assist with feeding his parent-prepared pureed meals while monitoring closely for choking or aspiration
Provide personal care
Oversee bowel movement monitoring
Maintain a calm, structured environment to support his ASD needs
Ensuring equipment such as the blue box and suction machine are ready
Provide stimulating activities to prevent boredom
Monitor skin integrity
Liaise with school staff to maintain consistency and safety throughout the day

Requirements:

Experience of working in a complex care setting
Tracheostomy & gastrostomy care
Administering medication
Using suction machines
Challenging behaviour in paediatrics
