Job Description:

Dovehaven care homes are looking for a Care Assistant to join our team at Callands Nursing Home in Warrington. We currently have x3 positions available- Working four or three Nights 7pm-7am, or Four Days a week 7am- 7pm with everyother weekend availability required- 44hr or 33hr Contracts. Callands is a purpose-built care home that caters for up to 120 service users. The home specialises in dementia and nursing care. The home is to be maintained to very high standard and our team will provide a secure, happy and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and visitors. About the Role: As Care Assistant you will assist the care team in the daily running of the Home, maintaining high standards of care and service towards our residents, relatives, visitors and other members of staff. You will be providing a range of personal care and emotional support to residents.

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting clients when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living
  • Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)
  • Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring clients retain their comfort and dignity
  • Pay particular attention to assisting clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems
  • Assist in the promotion of continence
  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
