Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to deliver high‑quality, personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. Working alongside our clinical and senior care teams, you’ll help create a safe, engaging and comfortable environment where residents can thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver personal care in line with care plans and procedures, documenting accurately
  • Report any changes, concerns, incidents, or complaints promptly to senior staff
  • Support residents with social activities, routines, and meaningful engagement
  • Maintain a clean, safe, secure environment and ensure equipment is used/stored safely
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all policies
  • take responsibility for ongoing learning and development

Requirements:

  • Secondary school education with good numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Level 2 in Care (or willingness to work towards it)
  • Experience caring for older people
  • Basic knowledge of Care Workers’ Codes of Practice

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting clients when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living
  • Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)
  • Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring clients retain their comfort and dignity
  • Pay particular attention to assisting clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems
  • Assist in the promotion of continence
  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
