Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and skilled Complex Care Support Worker to join a small, dedicated team supporting our Client Nic with complex health needs due to Optic Neuritis and Transverse Myelitis. They have a tracheostomy and require Ventilation, they need PEG feeding , use a Catheter and require help to mobilise at home and outside in the community. We are looking for someone who can help Nic run her house and participate in her interests which including watching Horse Racing and Football, Nic is a Sunderland fan.

Job Responsibility

  • Delivering person-centred care, promoting independence and clinical professionals to provide consistent and high-quality care
  • Support Nic with complex health needs due to Optic Neuritis and Transverse Myelitis
  • Provide support for tracheostomy, ventilation, PEG feeding, catheter, and mobilisation
  • Help Nic run her house and participate in her interests including watching Horse Racing and Football

Requirements

  • Experience in complex care or similar clinical settings (preferred)
  • Competency or willingness to be trained in tracheostomy and PEG care
  • Reliability, patience, and a person-centred approach
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well within a team and family environment

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting clients when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living
  • Assist clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual)
  • Provide attention when needed, whilst ensuring clients retain their comfort and dignity
  • Pay particular attention to assisting clients who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided
  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems
  • Assist in the promotion of continence
  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
