Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Children's Complex Care Support Worker to join a small, dedicated team supporting an infant with complex health needs. The child has a tracheostomy and requires PEG feeding, and the role involves supporting the family with day-to-day care at home.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide safe, person-centred care, promoting comfort, well-being, and independence where possible
  • Work closely with the family and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support
  • Support an infant with complex health needs including tracheostomy and PEG feeding

Requirements:

  • Experience in complex care, paediatrics, or similar clinical settings (preferred)
  • Competency or willingness to be trained in tracheostomy and PEG care
  • Reliability, patience, and a child-centred approach
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well within a team and family environment

  • Closely monitor clients who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems

  • Assist in the delivery of care for clients who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices
  • Observe care planning needs for clients and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist in a framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care home
  • Answer nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately. Respond accordingly and pass on messages promptly
