We are seeking a kind, reliable, and compassionate support worker to provide care for our client, a young child with complex medical and physical needs who lives at home with their family. Our client has a neurological condition affecting development, epilepsy, and a neuromuscular condition that causes significant weakness in the lower limbs. They are non-ambulant and require full assistance with transfers and repositioning. Support is required with airway management, including suctioning, deep suctioning, and chest physiotherapy, as our client has difficulty managing secretions. You will also assist with gastrostomy (PEG) care, including administering feeds and medications. Our client follows a blended diet via gastrostomy, which has been very beneficial to their overall wellbeing. Our client has made excellent developmental progress and attends school five days a week when well enough. You will accompany them to school and support their participation in daily activities. They are vocal, enjoy interaction, and respond positively to engagement. Our client enjoys sensory play, water play, outdoor activities, and being spoken to. They are very family-oriented and enjoy being involved in family life alongside their siblings.
