Cardiovascular Technician

• Maintain sterile techniques to prepare room, equipment table, and provide quality care to patients
• Monitor equipment to ensure appropriate working conditions and during procedures
• Retrieve supplies under the direction of physicians and nurses during the procedure as needed
• Maintain stock at par level in the procedure room by restocking rooms after each procedure
• Participate in product evaluations
• Count the number of revolutions during a rotablator procedure
• Turn on and check all equipment at the beginning of the day
• Check the monitoring equipment, intravascular ultrasound, pacemakers and IABP pump in working condition
• Assist in the transport of patients and transfer of patients to the procedure table
• Assist cardiologist with selective procedures
• Apply principles and practices of asepsis
• Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedure
• Set up sterile instrument table and prepare supplies according to type of procedure
• Assist in draping of patient and procedure area according to need
• Greet visitors and answer telephones promptly and courteously
• Answer physician pagers and refer to appropriate staff
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment
• Transport patient on stretchers or wheelchairs, as required

• HS/GED
• Associate's degree preferred
• 2 years of experience in cath or ep lab
• Heartsaver Certification from American Heart Association
• RCIS certificate preferred
