As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
Job Responsibility
Assists with pre-procedure education and preparing patient for procedure
Collaborates with other staff to assure patient has a thorough understanding of procedure and is able to answer questions as needed
Assures patient is positioned properly for the procedure
Assures EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied
Assures skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping
Sets up patient and sterile equipment in accordance to the performing physician’s preferences
Scrubs and assists physicians during procedures
Assists physician in sterile placement of invasive and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment, percutaneous left ventricular assist devices, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters/3-D intra-cardiac conduction mapping
Performs monitoring function throughout procedures
Documents clinical information in patient record
Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm
Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms
Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru completion of procedure
Performs arterial and/or venous sheath removal utilizing deployment of closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression and transport patients
