Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Specialist position in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Part-time, PRN role with varying hours Monday - Friday 0600 to 1800. Involves direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, medication administration, documentation, and clinical leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Demonstrates evidence-based practice and performs care for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient
Performs and/or assists with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring and circulating) under the direction of the physician
Administers medication under the direct supervision of the physician, as appropriate
Documents a current clinical picture and records designated information in the patient record
Conveys relevant information to physicians and teammates
Calculates, interprets, and analyzes data
Assists in development of policies, procedures, and standards of care reflective of current practice/literature
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Allied Health Technology, such as Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or comparable
Graduate of Cardiovascular Interventional Program or minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist
Registered and certified by the ARRT or current license as a Registered Nurse in applicable state or Respiratory Therapist
If not licensed or certified (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)), allied health professionals will have 12 months to successfully obtain
Must maintain current BLS, ACLS and Certification requirements
The Cardiovascular / Electrophysiology (EP) Specialist II must successfully meet and maintain the requirements of the complexity-based model of care
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential
Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, manual dexterity, good eye hand coordination
Nice to have:
Highly recommended to participate in committee and governance activities
Demonstrates leadership in role as a preceptor and serves as a clinical resource for others
