Full time, fixed term opportunity. Enterprise Agreement: Doctors in Training 2022 - 2026. $119,876 - $158,878 + salary packaging + super. Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. The Cardiology Department is responsible for the provision of an extensive range of cardiac services to inpatients and outpatients including general cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure service, pulmonary hypertension service, echocardiography, cardiac catheterisation, interventional and structural heart procedures, and non-invasive diagnostic procedures. An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Cardiology Interventional Fellow to join our Cardiology Department for a 12-month Fellowship position from February 2027.

Job Responsibility:

  • Diagnostic coronary angiography (at least 150 cases/year)
  • Diagnostic right and left heart catheterisation (at least 25 cases/year)
  • Elective and emergent coronary angioplasty and stenting (at least 200 cases/year)
  • Insertion of intra aortic balloon pumps (at least 5 cases during fellowship)
  • Assist with percutaneous closure of congenital defects, aortic and mitral valvuloplasty, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, other structural heart procedures, and peripheral vascular interventional procedures

Requirements:

  • Be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - (note eligible applicants will be assisted through this process)
  • Have completed core cardiology training of the RACP or overseas equivalent
