As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be a pivotal member of our cardiac team, performing crucial diagnostic testing to accurately diagnose and guide the treatment of patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.Every day, you will apply your independent judgment and advanced technical skills to perform state-of-the-art imaging procedures for patients presenting with conditions such as heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, and acute myocardial infarction, supporting decisions from minimally invasive interventions to major structural repairs.To be successful in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of echocardiography imaging equipment, master proper patient positioning techniques, and expertly produce and analyze high-quality cardiac ultrasound images. Job Responsibility:
Verifies orders entered into Cerner by ordering Physician for the examination
Attains B/P, Height and Weight and billable diagnosis to complete the exam from Cerner
When patient enters room Sonographer will ask patient for date of birth and first and last name and if patient has a Cardiologist and enters all pertinent information in the ultrasound machine
Sonographer will explain the echocardiogram to the patient or patient's family
Perform the Echocardiogram following ICAEL standards and Protocol. Sonographer will send the attained images into the PACs system
Sonographer will then complete a preliminary report for the reading Cardiologist
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS program)
Previous sonography experience preferred
Active certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required
