Cardiac Sonographer

• Performs Echocardiogram procedures including Transthoracic Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiograms with Cardiologist, Stress Echocardiograms with Cardiologist
• Completes Echocardiogram reports on Heartlab and processes finalized Echocardiogram reports for Medical billing
• Performs Echocardiograms requiring independent judgement and Initiative
• Participates with ICAEL accreditation and QA
• Assists with a teaching environment with students and new employees
• Verifies orders entered into Cerner by ordering Physician for the examination
• Attains B/P, Height and Weight and billable diagnosis to complete the exam from Cerner
• Enters all of the pertinent information into the Ultrasound machine
• Asks patient for date of birth and first and last name and if patient has a Cardiologist
• Explains the echocardiogram to the patient or patient's family
• Perform the Echocardiogram following ICAEL standards and Protocol
• Sends the attained images into the PACS system
• Completes a preliminary report for the reading Cardiologist

• High School Graduate/GED
• higher level degree and completion of an echocardiography program
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, within 12 - months

One (1) year experience as an echocardiography sonographer
