Job Description:

Department: 35820 Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center - Med Surg: IU 10 South Angioplasty. Status: Full time. Benefits Eligible: Yes. Hours Per Week: 36. Schedule Details/Additional Information: 8 and 12 hour shifts available. rotation required: every other weekend and half of the holidays each year.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist RNs with daily patient care including hygiene, repositioning, ambulation, feeding, and general cleaning
  • Perform and document vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other patient data
  • Independently carry out advanced care tasks such as: Arterial sheath removal, Bladder scanning, Foley catheter insertion/removal, Arterial blood draws and ACT testing, IV insertion, site care, and removal (peripheral), Telemetry monitoring and interpretation, 12-lead EKGs and phlebotomy
  • Monitor patient status and promptly report changes or concerns to the RN
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, post-mortem care, and patient transport
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CNA (WI registry)
  • 1-2 years of CNA experience in the acute setting
  • Completion of telemetry education and competency within 6 months of hire
  • Completion of unit-based clinical training for interventional procedures within 6 months of hire

  • Assists physician during procedures and in cleaning procedure room after procedure
  • Maintains scope cleaning equipment and accessories
