Job Description:

The incumbent provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe a confidential environment form admission to discharge. The Incumbent is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare, team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides, coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach
  • Uses the nursing process as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving
  • Collaborates with members of the healthcare team
  • Provides leadership
  • Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit
  • Plans, implements, evaluates and educates in care of patient
  • Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit
  • Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation
  • Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors
  • Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students

Requirements:

  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting as a Registered Nurse
  • OR experience with scrubbing and circulating abilities
  • Current BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
