Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Device Clinic Specialist to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to specialize in the cutting-edge field of cardiac device management, directly influencing our patients' recovery and quality of life. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care. You'll be at the forefront of patient assessment, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing personalized care plans for individuals with pacemakers, ICDs, and other cardiac devices. Collaborating seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform objective and subjective patient assessments
  • Assess patient response to any device changes made during previous follow-ups
  • Conduct in-depth in-office device interrogations, battery, and lead testing
  • Display expert knowledge of normal device testing results and function, while adeptly identifying and interpreting abnormal findings
  • Possess an extensive understanding of device diagnostics, identifying abnormal diagnostic data and assessing patients for related symptoms
  • Review remote transmissions as assigned and perform testing and documentation of device function for research protocols
  • Conduct device follow-up at satellite clinics
  • Develop comprehensive plans of care aligned with patient goals and medical plans, based on device clinic standing orders
  • Continuously evaluate and document patient responses to the care plan, making appropriate adjustments
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and plan patient care meticulously
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to programmed device parameters and prescribed medications
  • Perform complicated and in-depth changes in device parameters, based on testing results and within established safety guidelines
  • Reprogram device parameters related to patient complaints/symptoms
  • Notify physicians of programming changes as indicated and troubleshoot devices with minimal supervisory assistance
  • Coordinate and document communication between the patient, significant others, and the multidisciplinary team to support the care plan
  • Ensure effective and wise use of resources, and assure equipment and supplies are readily available and properly functioning
  • Assess patient and significant other's knowledge base, ability, and readiness to learn
  • Provide vital information regarding device follow-up scheduling, basic device function, and restrictions
  • Teach patients how to use remote monitors, assessing and documenting their understanding
  • Provide essential device informational support to technicians within the department

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate general studies, upon hire
  • High School GED general studies, upon hire
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: AR, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
