The Capital Process Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective intake, review, and approval of capital projects across the enterprise. This role provides oversight of the governance process, exercising judgment in evaluating submissions, routing requests, and ensuring that decisions and follow-ups are executed consistently. The individual is responsible for maintaining visibility into all capital requests, advising stakeholders on specifications, and ensuring accountability to governance standards throughout the approval lifecycle.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the intake of all capital project requests, ensuring completeness and accuracy
exercise discretion to determine readiness for Planning Review Group (PRG) review
Route requests to the appropriate PRG based on project type, division, or scope
Partner with stakeholders to resolve missing information or clarify submissions prior to PRG review
Manage the flow of requests through governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and timelines
Track and monitor approvals, conditions, and outstanding actions, ensuring accountability from project sponsors and stakeholders
Proactively identify and escalate risks, conflicts, or process breakdowns to leadership with recommendations for resolution
Develop and distribute pre-read materials and agendas for PRG meetings, ensuring senior leaders have the context necessary for decision making
Capture and validate decisions and outcomes, updating systems of record with authoritative documentation
Ensure timely follow-up on action items and enforce governance requirements post-approval
Serve as the primary liaison between project sponsors, PRGs, and the Director of Capital Planning & Management
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, balance strategic and tactical demands, and deliver results under tight timelines
Guide stakeholders through governance expectations, reinforcing accountability and alignment
Build credibility and influence with cross-functional teams and senior leaders through clear communication, sound judgment, and reliable execution
Maintain dashboards and reports that provide enterprise-wide visibility into the capital request pipeline, approval status, and turnaround times
Analyze trends to identify bottlenecks or recurring issues, recommending process adjustments to improve efficiency
Provide leadership with insights on request volumes, decision timeliness, and compliance with governance standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field
5+ years of experience in capital planning, project governance, or portfolio management
Proven ability to exercise discretion in evaluating submissions and ensuring compliance with governance standards
Strong organizational and communication skills
able to manage competing priorities and advise senior stakeholders
Experience producing executive-ready reporting and maintaining governance systems of record
