Job Description:

Individuals in Finance Risk are entrusted with corporate oversight tasks such as reviewing and analyzing liquidity and non-trading market risks, contingency funding plans, and rate risk stress testing. This role entails managing business-level liquidity and non-trading market risk, alongside developing and implementing strategies for measuring and analyzing economic capital and risk-weighted assets. Additional responsibilities of this role include guiding resolution planning and recovery, as well as managing regulatory capital activities connected to stress testing. This role is vital to the company's operations, helping to uphold financial stability, manage potential risks, and ensure regulatory compliance, which collectively support the company's overall financial health and achievement of business objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a recognized technical authority within the business, playing a key role in developing the risk management strategy for the Finance function with a focus on robust risk challenges and mitigations for capital
  • Ensure adherence to all risk-related regulatory requirements, upholding the highest standards of compliance
  • Provide independent, objective risk management oversight for capital management, including detailed planning, accurate forecasting, recovery and resolution planning
  • Interpret capital regulations. Assist in overseeing capital calculations and reporting
  • Participate in comprehensive, independent reviews and challenges of ongoing and quarterly business and capital management to ensure compliance with US Basel rules
  • Help determine strategic approaches to quarterly forecasting, ensuring the delivery of reliable results
  • Communicate analytical insights effectively to senior stakeholders, management, regulators, and Internal Audit
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive controls and automation across process reporting, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information
  • Promote a strong control environment across the team, fostering a culture of high performance and compliance

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experience managing large datasets and extrapolating insights for various P&L components
  • Relevant experience with Capital Planning/Adequacy Process and Capital regulatory requirements (e.g., CCAR/DFAST) and guidance including SR 15-18
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, SP&P CapIQ/SNL, or Bloomberg is preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to senior management through verbal and written form
  • Advanced proficiency in handling and analyzing large datasets and developing analytical tools and reports
  • Expertise in identifying and managing various types of risk including market, credit, and operational risk
  • Self-motivated with strong project management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
  • Solid understanding and experience with internal or external controls, regulatory compliance, and capital planning
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing comprehensive review and challenge processes across various business functions
  • Willingness to effectively challenge first line and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
