Job Description:

Allen Lane are currently supporting a Council with the recruitment of an experienced and hands-on Capital Corporate Finance Manager on a 6 month interim basis. The role will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and practical support across their capital programme. This interim role is ideal for someone who understands long term capital strategy while also diving into the detail, shaping processes where needed and driving improvements in governance and reporting.

Job Responsibility:

Reviewing, challenging, and supporting capital bids, business cases and delivery
Leading on financial reporting, cabinet updates, and budget setting
Supporting closedown, final accounts (Capital Assets), and Statement of Accounts
Monitoring Prudential Indicators and ensuring statutory compliance
Driving improvements in capital programme governance and reporting processes
Preparing for Capital Board and Officer Capital Group
Working with directorate finance teams and project managers to strengthen financial planning and control
Leading on data cleanse and supporting the drafting of a new Capital Strategy
Providing strategic leadership and practical support across their capital programme

Requirements:

Experience in a similar role in a large Local Authority is essential
Confident, collaborative, and proactive
Able to challenge, advise and roll up their sleeves to make a real impact
Understands long term capital strategy while also diving into the detail
Experience shaping processes where needed and driving improvements in governance and reporting
