Assist our world class engineering and nanolayered capacitor film development team bring new products to market! The position is a full time, first shift opportunity reporting directly to the VP of Capacitor Development. A successful candidate will work closely with the capacitor engineering team to convert, wind, fabricate, and test capacitors made with Peak’s NanoPlex capacitor film. The position focuses on all steps in capacitor fabrication, including film slitting/winding, and device finishing steps such as end spray, lead attachment, and potting. Additional job duties include documenting procedures, completing relevant trainings, conducting high voltage testing, and collecting experimental test data.
Job Responsibility
Assist engineering and nanolayered capacitor film development team bring new products to market
Convert, wind, fabricate, and test capacitors made with Peak’s NanoPlex capacitor film
Film slitting/winding
Device finishing steps such as end spray, lead attachment, and potting
Documenting procedures
Completing relevant trainings
Conducting high voltage testing
Collecting experimental test data
Establishing and following materials logging, storage, and handling procedures
Executing planned schedules for film slitting and prototype capacitor fabrication
Escalating awareness of issues or delays to the appropriate leader
Documenting device construction procedures including winding, thermal curing, lead attachment, and potting
Using and maintaining high voltage / high temperature test equipment and capacitor winding equipment
Gauging physical characteristics of capacitors including part dimensions, capacitance and loss, voltage withstand, and device lifetime
Documenting all test results and interacting with data management systems for upload, storage, and analysis of capacitor performance data
Provide feedback on data management system structure and user interactions
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in a production or quality control environment
Willingness to learn new test methods and equipment
Experience in a materials testing laboratory or quality assurance environment
Strong observational skills
Strong computer skills including data entry and cloud computing fluency
