The Manager, Campus Safety provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for the Campus Safety department. This position reports to the VP & CHRO or designee and is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating safety and emergency preparedness activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting institutional response to campus incidents and emergencies. The Manager is expected to respond to operational, emergency, and safety incidents as needed, including after-hours situations and shift coverage when required.

Requirements
A bachelor's degree in campus safety, emergency management, occupational safety, environmental health and safety, criminal justice, public administration, homeland security, or a related field is preferred
Equivalent combinations of education and directly relevant experience will be considered
A minimum of three years of experience in campus safety, emergency management, occupational safety, environmental health and safety, higher education operations, regulatory compliance, or a related field is required
Supervisory experience is required
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions quickly in stressful or rapidly changing situations is required
Availability to work various shifts and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed is required
Experience coordinating emergency preparedness, incident command, business continuity, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, or institutional operational response is preferred
Knowledge of workplace safety principles, MIOSHA and OSHA requirements, emergency preparedness, environmental health and safety, incident command systems, continuity planning, and hazard communication is preferred
Experience developing and delivering training related to campus safety, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, or environmental health and safety is preferred
Knowledge of local, county, state, and federal emergency response structures and experience coordinating with external emergency management agencies is preferred
Completion of FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, and IS-700 (NIMS) coursework is required or must be completed within six months of hire
Additional preferred certifications and training include OSHA or MIOSHA-related coursework, HAZWOPER training, CPR and AED certification, and related professional development
Candidates must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in operational, emergency, and professional settings
