Imagine being involved in the construction of one of Europe's most modern research campuses for two of the internationally leading Max Planck Institutes in Martinsried near Munich, from master planning to commissioning. Over the next few years, a completely new, state-of-the-art and adaptive research infrastructure will be created on the campus of the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry (MPIB) and the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence (MPI-BI) – a flagship project with the highest technical and sustainability standards.
Job Responsibility:
Connect the reality of everyday laboratory life with the logic of technical building equipment (TBE)
Ensure demanding research runs efficiently and smoothly
Collect and document requirements from research, administration and facilities
Translate requirements into clear, verifiable requirements for laboratories and TBE
Develop viable solutions in close coordination with all those involved in planning
Drive standardisation and modular laboratory and office layouts
Review general planner solutions from a technical and functional perspective
Develop variants and decision templates
Use Building Information Management (BIM) with CAFM integration
Deliver structured and reliable data
Take life cycle costs into account
Embed sustainability holistically – ecologically, economically and socially
Requirements:
Degree in natural sciences with several years of laboratory experience or a degree in construction or engineering with several years of professional experience
Familiar with real-world processes, safety requirements and equipment in research
Familiar with planning, conversions, commissioning or qualification and accreditation processes for laboratories
Comprehensive understanding of laboratory, building and operational services
Enjoy working in a structured, pragmatic and interdisciplinary manner in an international environment
Confident in planning and coordination processes
Enjoy tackling complex, cross-disciplinary issues
Communication in German and/or English
