The Campus Accommodation Operations Officer plays a key role in supporting a safe, vibrant, and student-focused residential community. Working as part of a high-performing customer service and administrative team, the role manages core “back-office” functions related to student accommodation. This includes handling enquiries, applications, offers, and the full arrival and departure process for residents. The team also coordinates cleaning and maintenance activities, working closely with internal and external partners to ensure facilities are well maintained and student needs remain central. They support the administration of both the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) and the University’s Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) Agreement.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to enquiries and provide advice on matters related to accommodation or guidance
Provide exceptional service and participate in the marketing and promotion of Accommodation activities and services
Process student residential applications and accommodation offers, Australian Maritime College industry bookings and conference and casual bookings, catering requests and undertake room inspections in accordance with Campus Accommodation policy and procedures
Provide administrative assistance with the gathering, recording, and reporting of NRAS tenant income eligibility and other information required to meet the reporting requirements of the NRAS scheme
Undertake liaison with residents and provide support to the Residential Communities Team in resident interactions and pastoral care activities, referring concerns as appropriate
Independently coordinate tenancy lifecycle processes, including processing and managing residential applications, rents and payments, keys and access, and ensuring all residential agreements are verified and consistent with the University’s rental policies and requirements

Proven ability to act independently within established guidelines, exercising discretion, sound judgement and impartiality
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and a strong commitment to excellent customer service
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, improvement and multi-skilling with an ability to adapt to changes in work methods and the working environment
Experienced in the use of computerised administrative systems, including word processing (preferably Microsoft Word), spreadsheets, database operations, email and internet
