Job Description:

Responsible for providing administrative support such as answer the phone, taking messages and routing mail, handling requests from business manager and executive director, as requested. Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration of the office and business office functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate person, or providing assistance, as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service, in accordance with the YMCA culture, through professional and effective communication with participants, visitors, staff, volunteers, user groups, etc.
  • Register participants and process payments for summer camp or special events, as needed
  • Greet participants, visitors, staff, volunteers, user groups, etc., in a warm and welcoming manner in accordance with the YMCA culture
  • Conduct real-time background checks for visitors, as necessary
  • Assist business manager with completing the hiring process for new employees
  • Assist new employees with navigating the onboarding process
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must have high ethical standards and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school Diploma/GED required
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, business, administration or related field preferred or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Previous experience (one year) in a customer-focused role preferred
  • Proficient at MS Office, and other database software, preferred
