Job Description:

Seeking a Camera Validation Engineer responsible for validating new camera modules and image sensors, defining and owning validation specifications, executing image quality characterization and verification, and supporting camera module bring-up from early design and prototyping through qualification and mass production for the next-generation vision systems of the 1X humanoid robot. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced product development environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute comprehensive camera system-level characterization of optical and electrical performance in complex robotic systems
  • Design and implement robust calibration protocols and manufacturing test processes for high-precision vision systems
  • Lead hardware and software vision system bring-up from prototype design through mass production
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for external vendors, driving alignment to performance requirements
  • Develop specifications and objective metrics for camera validation systems
  • Work closely with AI perception teams to align system requirements and feature development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in camera and imaging systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical, optical, and mechanical aspects of camera modules
  • Experience with Python and C/C++
  • Proficiency working in a Linux environment
  • Experience with standard image quality evaluation tools and software (Such as Imatest, Image Engineering, Matlab or equivalent)
  • Ability to work full-time on-site

  • Proven experience with stereo vision systems and consumer camera products
