Job Description

To provide scheduling appointments at the appropriate clinics. This position also provides documentation support, communications enhancements and other support activities in maintaining the coordination of patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience with a multi-line telephone system
  • Customer service skills required for responding appropriately to patients, families, physicians and agency staff
  • Ability to transcribe and relay accurate messages on a timely basis
  • Knowledge of grammar usage, punctuation and style
  • Computer skills required
  • Clinic experience preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills required

  • Document encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, and other physician colleagues, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians, social workers, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, family-centered care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions, clinical pathways, and care planning as appropriate
