GM is undergoing a major transformation, both in how we operate and in how we will influence the future of transportation. Our Propulsion Thermal Calibration Team is on the forefront of this work, and we are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Calibration Specialist. In this role, you will have calibration responsibilities in Electrification Thermal Device Controls/Diagnostics and System Diagnostics, where you will develop calibration data sets for current and future vehicle platforms, including hybrid applications. We are looking for team members who thrive on being challenged and developing solutions in an emerging domain. You will leverage your engineering training to develop a strong understanding of the physical system and the software controls, leveraging your troubleshooting skills to resolve issues, develop test plans and complete calibration work. This position involves a combination of in-vehicle and laboratory data collection, bulk data analysis, along with related performance verification on bench and in-vehicle to ensure robust execution of diagnostic and controls calibrations. Calibration Specialists engage in cross-functional teams, are expected to handle multiple projects/priorities, and frequently need to balance planned and unplanned work. Travel requirements of ~30 days per year are to be expected. Travel will predominantly be to the Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan, but may also include other locations in the US and Canada to support in-vehicle Calibration Development. Occasional travel to the Markham Elevation Centre will be required as well.
