Job Description:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Nextest division to develop and maintain calibration, characterization, and diagnostics programs for the Magnum family of testers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop new, maintain, and extend existing high-speed timing calibration and characterization software libraries and program
  • Work directly with hardware engineers to develop new calibration and characterization routines, as well collect and help analyze data for design validation of new and existing products.
  • Identify hardware and or software issues occurring on the customer’s test floor or on our manufacturing floor and either recommend or implement solutions to the designs.
  • Work directly with Product Engineering and Manufacturing to transition new product releases between the Engineering group and the Manufacturing group.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of C and C++, and object-oriented design.
  • Ability to read hardware schematics and block diagrams.
  • Ability to translate hardware register data and memory maps into software models and objects.
  • Familiarity with the characteristics of giga-bit digital signals and circuits.
  • Familiarity with Time-Domain Reflectometry.
  • Familiarity with methods for measuring programmable delays
  • Ability to use the basic functions of oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and Logic Analyzers.
  • Knowledge of data structures and experience with the C++ Standard Templates Library (STL).
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 10 (and above), in building executable program and Dynamic Link Library project
  • Proficiency with a source code control system (Git experience preferred)
  • Experience working with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Experience communicating over various busses
  • GPIB, I2C, SPI, PCIe, etc.
  • Ability to create and present design documents and diagrams
  • Data analytics skills
  • 6-sigma, Cp, Cpk, etc.
  • Familiarity with common Signal Integrity concepts, Eye diagrams
  • Familiarity with HDL (Verilog, VHDL) and SPICE.
  • Understanding frequency domain, Fourier Xform/Series.
  • Advanced use of Excel, MATLAB
  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • MS with 0-1 years experience, or BS with 3+ years experience
