Job Description:

A Dining Worker/Server with American Dining Creations will focus on delivering exceptional customer service and completing food preparation duties. The Dining Worker/Server will efficiently greet and serve menu items to guests from a station or serving line. Additional tasks may also include assisting the cashier, cleaning the kitchen, and serving areas, stocking, equipment upkeep and other related work as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Follow established recipes to prepare and serve menu items for a food station
  • Greet and serve guests in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control, temperature logs, and dates
  • Provide guests with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing
  • Cashier duties may include operating a POS, accept payment for food and beverage purchases
  • Assist with labels and packaging food for take-out menus and mobile ordering
  • Escalate customer concerns and complaints to management
  • Clean, organize, and maintain kitchen, equipment, utensils, and general areas
  • May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • 1+ years prior experience in a Customer Service, Food Service, or Retail position preferred
  • Able to work well with others as well as excel independently
  • Time management skills and task focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read, write, communicate effectively
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for entire scheduled shift

  • Maintains accurate inputting of orders, receiving, inventory and inputting of production and meal count data
  • Ensures freshness of prepared items by implementing proper rotation of food items prepared, properly wraps and labels prepared food items, and prepares only amounts of food items as assigned
  • Participates and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, cafeteria and storage areas under the auspices of FS Department including, but not limited to, walk-ins, refrigeration, freezers, dry storage and FS site office areas
  • Participates in meal service periods assigned either as server or cashier, dependent on the school site’s needs
  • Maintains efficient and smooth flow of service and works closely with coworkers to assure that students, staff and faculty have a pleasurable dining experience, and that all students are provided with a meal in compliance with USDA Guidelines
  • Maintains accurate reporting of sales transactions, account balances, collection of funds, and preparation of daily deposit slips, daily reports and deposits for bank pickups using Horizons point of sale software
  • Records and maintains temperature logs for equipment, food production and food transport, as outlined in the BVSD FS Standard Operating Procedures. Complies with federal, state and district regulations and policies including, but not limited to, HACCP, ServSafe, safety and sanitation. Reads the FS newsletter and posts
  • Uses and maintains institutional food service equipment such as ovens, steamers, and commercial dishwashers
