Job Description:

The Cafeteria Attendant/Cook assist in preparation and service food items for Employee Dining Room in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and serve food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per established menu from supervisor
  • Prepare set-up and salad bar items
  • set-up hotline with food retrieved from kitchen
  • Maintain the cleanliness of cafeteria kitchen and seating areas
  • restock condiments and paper goods as necessary
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
  • assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems
  • control food waste, loss and usage per policies

Requirements:

  • Prior Stewarding or Culinary experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 70 lbs
  • US work authorization is required
