To be responsible for the day to day management and operation of the Café, driving profit margin through controlled costs and maximising revenue. You’ll be working within our Operations Team and directly reporting to the General Manager.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure that Cafe opening and closing procedures are followed at all times
Be responsible for staff rotas within budgeted hours
Be responsible for all people management supporting with any performance issues
Lead on all stock rotation, ensuring low wastage levels
Manage efficient café stock levels and vending machines, placing orders as necessary
Be responsible for tracking all wastage, working with Finance to ensure this is processed accurately and efficiently
Manage and oversee cleanliness and standards, always ensuring compliance with Food Safety standards
Comply with all hygiene regulations and maintain comprehensive, up to date records
Be responsible for the maintenance of all Café and vending equipment, reporting any defects/faults with suppliers
Plan ahead so to maximise café revenue on any booked Centre events
Initiate new ideas to improve the level of service and facilities available to customer’s
Be involved in designing new menu’s, based on customer feedback
Contribute to commercial ideas, such as specials, seasonal foods/drinks and events
Effectively train team members on all company service standards, such as the Horizon HELLO
Collaborate with marketing on effectively promoting our Cafés
Support the business with new team member inductions
Be responsible for minimising the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and for reporting potential risks, real accidents, and near misses to relevant managers
Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise under pressure
Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate others
Strong creativity, resourcefulness, and excellent attention to detail
Excellent team player
Good commercial awareness
Basic computer literacy
Experience of working in the catering/licensed trade
Computer literate and basic ability in Excel and Word applications
Experience in the management and training of staff
