Job Description:

A well-established hospitality group is seeking a motivated and business-savvy general manager to lead their popular daytime cafe in Washington, DC. This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader passionate about outstanding guest experiences and team development, with strong work-life balance and a welcoming culture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all daily cafe operations, ensuring seamless service and efficiency
  • Inspire and motivate your team, fostering a positive and energetic environment
  • Build authentic connections with guests and cultivate regulars
  • Ensure consistent quality standards and adherence to steps of service
  • Manage store profitability by monitoring sales, controlling costs, and hitting targets
  • Support team growth through regular feedback and performance reviews
  • Lead compliance in health, safety, and food safety standards
  • Represent the cafe and brand within the local community

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of general manager experience in a full-service restaurant or cafe
  • Proven track record of meeting sales, labor, and cost targets
  • Experience managing P&L, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Team leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Highly organized with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • DOH accreditation and/or ServSafe certification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
