Job Responsibility:

  • Draft plans/mark-ups for the purpose of creating construction documents
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review
  • Revise plans according to client, manager, or reviewer comments
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining all CAD or CAD related files for clients, town, or county intake
  • Delegate responsibilities for submitting plans on time
  • Obtain work assignments of either specific design elements to CAD drafting duties from project manager with allocated budgets
  • Perform non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions under minimum supervision
  • Support assigned engineers, planners, landscape architects, or other technical positions by providing technical support and translating technical notes, sketches, electronic data and/or drawings into documentable technical solutions
  • Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in design work
  • Perform work under moderate supervision
  • Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution
  • Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience using CAD standards, preferably in the land development industry
  • Equivalent of computer certificate for CAD Class Training
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD and other engineering design software
  • Experience with computer applications and software such as, Microsoft office, etc.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed
  • High degree of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information
  • High level of motivation and a problem-solving attitude
  • Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents
