Job Description

Jones & Henry is seeking a full time CAD Modeler to prepare layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications using computer assisted design and drafting equipment to enhance our growing Kalamazoo office. This is a unique opportunity to build upon your knowledge working with a team of professional engineers with years of experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform computer assisted design to create complete and accurate drawings in accordance with client specific requirements and company procedures
  • Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to create complete and accurate drawings in accordance with client specific requirements and company procedures
  • Travel to job sites to collect and verify survey data, and/or planning and design information from the field
  • Reads and interprets construction and site drawings
  • Participates in design and preparation of engineering drawings using the appropriate internal and external standards
  • Coordinates project drawings with Client Principals, Project Managers and others while meeting project needs in a timely and effective manner
  • Extracts plotting and drawing output to different digital formats such as PDF and DWF files

Requirements

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of engineering terms, concepts, practices, procedures and principles
  • Strong problem solving skills and a desire to come up with practical solutions
  • Proficient communication, numeracy and IT skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to balance demands from multiple directions
  • Ability to work with a range of individuals in a professional and cooperative environment
