Randstad is hiring and looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Laser Cutting Machine Operators for a contract position at our client's North York facility! If you enjoy sports, and entrepreneurialism and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, then this is the role for you. Location: North York, Ontario. Job Type: Full-time, Contract Position. Pay Rate: $20 per hour. Shift Available: Monday to Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm; Monday to Friday: 4:30pm-1:00 am. Available to start immediately. Eligible candidates must also have a clear criminal record check.

Job Responsibility

  • Machine Operation: Expertly operate Trotect SP 1500 or PS400 laser machines to cut materials following precise design specifications
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD and CorelDRAW software to create and modify design files for laser cutting
  • Setup and Calibration: Prepare the laser machine by setting up parameters, adjusting settings, and calibrating the equipment for different materials and cutting requirements
  • Quality Control: Inspect cut materials for precision, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of the machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of materials used, production output, and any machine issues encountered during operations

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating Trotect SP 1500 or PS400 laser machines with hands-on experience in CAD and CorelDRAW software
  • Prior experience of 1-2 years in laser cutting operations, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a must
  • Able to adjust laser beam focal point and establish appropriate stop locations
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in cutting materials and translate design specifications into finished products
  • Performing dimensional inspections
  • Support in any tasks requested by production as required
  • Ability to work under fast paced environment
  • Capability to troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic maintenance
  • Capacity to work with different materials and designs, adjusting settings accordingly
  • Good communication

  • Establish UHV best practices, design vacuum cleaning and handling laboratories, and mentor staff in UHV principles, contamination control, and leak detection
  • Design, build, and operate UHV test stands to validate both established and emerging vacuum technologies against stringent performance requirements
