Requirements

DNO operational authorisation (SSE)
NRSWA certificate for operatives
CSCS card
City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering
Proven experience in LV/HV cable jointing and working on both public highways and development sites

Job Responsibility

Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures, and wearing appropriate PPE
Install and commission multi-utility electrical infrastructure in accordance with approved method statements and technical standards
Accept deliveries of plant and materials, ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose prior to use
Conduct daily site-specific risk assessments and maintain a safe working environment
Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent condition, reporting any defects promptly
Record and submit work details accurately for compliance and invoicing purposes
Participate actively in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing training

Requirements

Proven experience in an LV Cable Jointer role including work on ICP, DNO, or utilities excavation projects
Previously held certifications for underground connections to DNO/IDNO networks
Qualification or experience in working with live low-voltage (LV) single-phase service cables and terminations
Ability to safely remove and replace cutouts or secondary wiring fuses (single-phase only)
Competence in low-voltage supply point testing
A full UK driving licence
Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
To achieve higher salary: City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, 2351, 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or an approved equivalent
Experience or qualification to remove and replace cutouts/secondary wiring fuses (single or three-phase)

Job Responsibility

Installing, removing, and wiring streetlights and highways electrical furniture like signs and bollards
Working with a Jointers Mate to excavate joint holes, prepare cables for jointing, and complete service/mains jointing
Performing thorough risk assessments and adhering to strict safety regulations and guidelines
Responding to urgent situations as part of a rota system
Providing exceptional service to clients while ensuring public safety and satisfaction

Job Responsibility
