We are looking for a Cable Jointer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, joining, and terminating cables on both underground and overhead networks within the energy distribution network. You'll be responsible for cable testing and identifying existing cables using visual and instrumentation methods.
Job Responsibility
Install, replace, and repair underground and overhead electrical distribution systems
Joint and terminate cables and assemble electrical panels, junction boxes, ring main units, and transformers
Perform cable testing to ensure the correct cable is selected and check the condition of cables before and after work
Ensure safety by using proper isolation and earthing procedures before starting work and removing them once work is completed
Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and team collaboration
Requirements
New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply Cable Jointer – High Voltage Level 4 (or equivalent)
New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply Cable Jointer – Low Voltage Level 3 (or equivalent)
NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB) in Electrical Supply or equivalent
Ideally, at least 2 years of relevant experience in HV and/or LV cable jointing
Strong ability to plan and organise your workload and be a self-starter
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence
