Job Description:

Kitchen Tune-Up Grand Rapids is growing and seeking a skilled, dependable Cabinet Painter to join our team. You'll focus primarily on professional kitchen cabinet painting (including prep, priming, and flawless finishes on face frames, doors, and drawer fronts), along with trim work and occasional interior house painting. Bonus points if you bring additional skills in kitchen or bath remodeling—we love versatile team members who can contribute across projects! If you're detail-oriented, take pride in a job done right the first time, and are passionate about transforming spaces while exceeding customer expectations, this could be the uplifting opportunity you've been looking for.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prep surfaces thoroughly (sanding, cleaning, masking, filling imperfections) to ensure a smooth, durable finish
  • Prime, paint, and finish kitchen cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, trim, and related woodwork using high-quality products and techniques
  • Handle occasional interior house painting (walls, ceilings, trim) as needed on remodeling jobs
  • Follow Kitchen Tune-Up's 5 Trustpoints on every project to deliver consistent, exceptional results
  • Arrive on time, work efficiently, and communicate daily progress with the project manager
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe—clean up thoroughly at the end of each day
  • Protect client homes (cover floors, counters, appliances, etc.) and interact professionally and friendly with customers
  • Safely use painting tools/equipment (sprayers, brushes, rollers, sanders, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Stellar work ethic and reliability—show up on time and ready to work every day
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow directions precisely
  • Proven experience in cabinet painting, fine finish work, or high-end residential painting
  • Ability to prep and paint for a factory-like, long-lasting finish (experience with cabinet-specific paints/coatings a big plus)
  • Comfortable working in occupied homes with professionalism and respect for clients' spaces
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in Grand Rapids and surrounding areas
  • Ability to safely lift/move materials and work on your feet for extended periods

Nice to have:

  • Experience in kitchen or bath remodeling (e.g., basic trim carpentry, minor repairs, installing hardware/roll-outs, drywall patching, or other finish work)
  • Familiarity with spray painting systems for cabinets
  • Knowledge of color matching, stains, or specialty finishes
  • Previous work in cabinet refacing, redooring, or restoration projects
What we offer:
  • Bonus based on performance
  • Competitive salary
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Ongoing training and coaching
  • Opportunity to grow with a high-quality, reputable company
  • Work in beautiful homes and communities
  • Be part of a passionate team that values integrity and extraordinary customer experiences
