CAA Superintendent role for international construction projects, involving close work with project leadership, management of crafts and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and schedule in a construction setting requiring travel.
Job Responsibility:
Works closely with the Project Superintendent and project manager in formulating, discussing and finalizing the overall plan of operations, job layout, job schedule
Manages the day-to-day work of crafts and subcontractors in field, delegates work through foreman and/or subcontractor representatives
May work with subcontractors of different cultures and languages to ensure quality and minimize re-work
Maintains regular communications with project staff to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule
Reviews plans and specifications of job, job budget, and estimate with project manager, quality control manager, and project superintendent
Participates in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors
Assists in preparation of plan at beginning of job, for receiving, storing and handling materials
Assists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.)
Maintains best possible relationship with owner and architectural-engineering firm associated with job
Strives to develop spirit of cooperation and respect between Caddell and representatives of the other partners on the project
Performs additional assignments per project manager’s and project superintendent’s direction
Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years total construction management experience required
Four-year degree in building science, construction management or engineering and 10 years total construction management experience preferred
Current clearance, or the ability to obtain, a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required
Strong leadership and management skills required
Excellent technical and management skills
Strong client relations skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage costs and control schedule
Excellent knowledge of safety requirements
Ability to coach, lead and motivate multinational and multi-disciplined employees
Shows leadership, concise execution of plans, vision of project future, and effective communication of vision to subordinates
Must have integrity and strong communication skills
Ability to crawl, climb, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for long periods of time, lift and hold in excess of 50lbs, talk, hear and occasionally sit
Ability to withstand confined spaces and or/extreme heights while negotiating tasks at hand in a safe manner to themselves and/or others
Nice to have:
