Outsource UK is looking to recruit a Control & Instrumentation Engineer for a global bulk liquid storage and logistics organisation to support and enhance industrial automation and OT environments across multiple operational assets. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for maintaining, improving and commissioning instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and DCS systems, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operations within a COMAH-regulated environment. The role is expected to be 50% hybrid 50% travel to sites in the region.
Job Responsibility:
System Management: Maintain and improve SCADA, PLC, DCS, and IACS systems, ensuring optimal performance
Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of new control systems or upgrades
Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems. Provide support for system maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery planning
Documentation: Review and prepare technical documents, including system specifications, engineering deliverables, and commissioning procedures
Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure proper system troubleshooting and issue resolution
Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety standards, including COMAH requirements, and ensure all tasks meet company policies and procedures
Requirements:
Relevant experience in control and instrumentation systems
Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA system design, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Familiarity with fieldbus protocols (Modbus, Profibus, etc.) and industrial networking
Ability to review and produce technical documents such as schematics, loop drawings, and system specifications
Experience in the design and review of DCS, SIS, PLC, and SCADA systems
