The District is hiring regular full-time Bylaw Enforcement Officers to perform inspectional and regulatory work related to the enforcement of a variety of bylaws and to assist other departments with bylaw enforcement. The work involves considerable public relations contact and requires good customer service skills in order to respond and problem solve with fairness, tact and diplomacy.
Job Responsibility:
Perform inspectional and regulatory work related to the enforcement of a variety of bylaws
Assist other departments with bylaw enforcement
Investigate and process complaints concerning bylaw infractions and violations
Enforce regulations and bylaws
Explain and interpret bylaws and regulations to the public
Prepare reports and records
Gather evidence and appear in Court as required
Requirements:
Completion of Grade 12
Sound experience in inspectional and enforcement work
Preferably Justice Institute of B.C. Bylaw Compliance, Enforcement & Investigative Skills, Levels 1 and 2 OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
