Our team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer for a contract-to-permanent opportunity in Connecticut. You will play a key role in supporting the procurement process by managing administrative tasks to ensure purchasing accuracy and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring complete and accurate documentation
Monitor order progress, update records, and maintain organized databases, primarily using Excel
Conduct basic data analysis to support procurement decisions and improve operational efficiency
Reconcile invoices and purchase orders, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies
Manage vendor records and maintain effective communication with suppliers
Provide administrative support to the purchasing department, handling routine and ad hoc tasks
Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
Collaborate with team members to share information and support departmental objectives
Requirements:
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel and ability to learn new software/systems quickly
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Eagerness to learn and grow in purchasing and supply chain functions
At least one year of administrative experience, ideally in purchasing or supply chain environments
High school diploma or equivalent
additional education is advantageous
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formulas, and basic analysis
Solid math skills to verify quantities, pricing, and totals
Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement processes
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work collaboratively within a team
